In August of 1979 Frank Lazzaro opened a small 300 square ft. florist and gift shop located in Floral Park, N.Y. specializing in a fine collection of general merchandise. Just pasting through town in his old "beat up" Volkswagon Beatle Bug driving his Mother to the Mall, a big red sign with the words "FOR RENT" in this tiny shop's window caught his eye immediately. Frank turned to his loving Italian Mother and quickly said, "Momma, that small "telephone booth" of a shop will make a nice florist!" With less than five hundred dollars left over from his military savings and just a dream, he closed his busy fea market table of flowers and general "stuff" and built a successful retail shop for over twenty years. Along with his florist business his small enterprise expanded throughout the decades into a three store chain in Floral Park, Franklin Square and Mineola, N.Y., serving the people of Long Island with flowers, gifts and fine home furnishings. "What ever the heart wants, the heart gets" He use to say to his family members. When the internet was born in 1995 he sold his "brick and mortar" shops and built a full-line E-commerce store nationwide. "You can't have too many pots cooking on the stove at the same time, you must give all your attention into one or the other or everything will burn up," Frank told his friends!
